FAQs

When is the 2027 Festival?

Pgh Book Fest will return May 2027. Stay tuned for the official date!

Where is the Festival held?

Pgh Book Fest is held at the historic Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh – Main (4400 Forbes Ave.) in Oakland. Programming can be found both inside and outside of the Library’s campus, and across the street at Schenley Plaza and the Hillman Library at University of Pittsburgh.

How much does it cost to attend?

Absolutely nothing – unless you count the irresistible urge to buy a book (or three). Admission and programming are free for all ages.

What can I expect?

Prepare for an entire day of author talks, panel discussions, poetry readings, workshops and so much more.
You can also expect literary vendors and exhibitors as well as bookstores selling books on site!

What ages can attend the Festival?

All ages are welcome! Programming is made for adults, teens, and even the littlest of readers.

How do I apply to be part of the Festival?

Authors, poets, vendors, exhibitors, and self-published writers can apply to participate in Festival programming. More information and applications will be available late 2026.

When will Festival authors and poets be announced?

Our author and poet lineup begins to be announced on a rolling basis in early 2027. The full program lineup will be released in April 2027.
