On May 30, 2026, Pgh Book Fest is back for its fifth year – celebrating the stories that bring us all together.
Pgh Book Fest is a free, citywide celebration of books, creativity, and connection held at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh’s main campus in Oakland.
Hosted by Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh (CLP), the Festival showcases a wide range of voices — from nationally recognized authors, indie booksellers, and community partners. With panel discussions, poetry readings, family activities, and a bookish exhibitor space, it’s a day dedicated to storytelling in all its forms.
This year marks a new chapter.
Formerly known as the Greater Pittsburgh Festival of Books, we’re now Pgh Book Fest. With a fresh name and growing momentum, CLP is proud to carry this literary tradition forward, expanding the program, welcoming more authors, and creating more opportunities for readers of all ages to connect, discover, and celebrate the power of books.
2025 marked our biggest year yet, welcoming nearly 8,000 book lovers and:
- 104 authors
- 29 poets
- 24 vendors
- 45 programs
- 32 moderators
We can’t wait to see what 2026 brings!
