Karuna Riazi holds an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Hamline University and is currently a PhD candidate in Children’s Literature at the University of Pittsburgh, where she studies Black, children’s and young adult horror. Her most recent middle grade novel is Sabrena Swept Away (Greenwillow Books, 2025), a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection.
